We will welcome the new year this week, and that means it’s time to reflect on 2014 and decide how you want to move forward in 2015. For many people, the new year is an opportunity to create new goals. Coming up with practical resolutions can be difficult, so we’ve compiled this short list to help you out:

Put Your Phone On A Diet

It’s easy to get wrapped up in your devices, but doing so takes away from time you could be spending with your family in your McKinney home. In fact, the 24/7 cycle of mainstream media can be really exhausting. Instead of pulling the plug on your phone for long lengths of time, commit to turning off your phone for 20 to 30 minutes each day. This is a great resolution to do with family members, so you can hold each other accountable. For example, you and your spouse can agree to keep your phone off and away during dinner.

When In Doubt, Walk It Out

We know that not everyone has time to exercise strenuously on a set schedule. However, committing to a few minutes of exercise each day can really make a difference for your health in the long run. Take a short walk around our McKinney community, or opt to take the stairs instead of the elevator on your way into work. Little things like this will add up to contribute to better overall health.

Enhance What You Already Do Well

This is probably the easiest resolution to maintain throughout the new year. Instead of trying to change something completely, or add something to your routine, just pick something you already do well and aim to do it better. For example, if you are a good cook, try to make more meals at home instead of eating out.

We hope these simple and effective New Year’s resolution ideas will help get your 2015 off to a great start!
