It’s a three-day weekend for students because of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday which means extra family time! Instead of stressing about what to do, enjoy the time with your kids and leave it up to us to do the planning. Here are some fun activities to do as a family.

Bowling is always a great choice enjoyed by kids and adults! Have fun knocking down pins with your little ones for a great price! Main Event, which has locations in Frisco, Plano and Grapevine, is running a special for the MLK holiday featuring all you can play for the whole weekend including bowling, laser tag, billiards, golf, gravity ropes course and rock climbing all for one set price.

If you prefer the outdoors, so the kids can run around and let off some steam, try going to a local park, which provides plenty of space for relaxing and playing games. Parks are perfect for kids of different ages because they may have open fields, jungle gyms, basketball courts and a number of other activities. Watch while the kids play or join in on the fun!

Another good idea is glow mini golf, which is mini golf but with a twist! At Lunar Mini Golf in Plano, the facility is completely lit up with blacklights, so everything glows including the golf balls, the golf clubs, the putting tracks and even the kids!

Going out to eat with your kids can sometimes feel like a struggle, especially if they are very young, but all it takes is finding the right place. Spruce up dining with your kids by going to a fun restaurant this weekend. Experience a tropical adventure at Rainforest Cafe or do the hokey pokey at Babe’s Chicken Dinner House in Frisco!

Take advantage of the extra day you get to spend with your kids this weekend! With so many different options in and around the McKinney area, how could you go wrong in choosing? Whether you pick one or all, celebrate the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday by enjoying some much needed family time.
