Who will put on the green jacket this year? Played at the historic Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, the 2011 Masters Tournament will be one of the most-watched golf events of the year. Scheduled for April 7-10 and rich with tradition, this is the first major championship of the 2011 season.
Of course, if you can’t make it to Augusta, you might want to spend some time that weekend playing the TPC Craig Ranch Golf Course. The championship layout of TPC Craig Ranch combines innovative design and a reverence for nature. Situated on 233 acres of breathtaking countryside within the gated wellness and lifestyle community of Craig Ranch, TPC Craig Ranch continues to redefine the private club experience by combining award-winning golf with an array of premium amenities and the personalized service and privileges that have become synonymous with the PGA Tour’s acclaimed TPC network of clubs.
Named by Golf Digest as being among the top private golf courses in the U.S., TPC Craig Ranch’s par-72, 7,438-yard championship golf course was designed by PGA Tour legend and golf course architect Tom Weiskopf. Weiskopf skillfully engaged the beautiful, gently rolling hills and mature woods surrounding the limestone banks of Rowlett Creek. PGA Tour player D.A. Weibring served as a consultant on the project. Lush Zoysia fairways and Bentgrass greens traverse gently rolling hills, with stands of mature hardwoods and the beautiful white limestone-based Rowlett Creek – which crosses the course 14 times – creating a stunning backdrop for an inspiring test of golf.
Though rated among the toughest golf courses in Texas, five sets of tees on each hole enable golfers of all abilities to enjoy the subtle nuances and distinct design elements that have brought Weiskopf recognition as one of the country’s most respected designers. The course played host to the 2008 Nationwide Tour Championship, the pinnacle event on the Nationwide Tour – providing the perfect proving ground for talented players vying for a spot on the PGA TOUR.
